GUIDE WITH CERTIFICATES


Use the guide when you are choosing working and safety shoes. The coloured symbols indicate what kind of work the safety shoes are most suited for:

 

 


  Suitable for contractors, bricklayers, light industry and building. Pay attention to the fact that the product is either not antistatic, has heel cap or is shock absorbing in the heel.
  Suitable for light industry where a protective midsole is not demanded. 
 
  Suitable for light industry where a protective midsole is demanded. 
 
  Suitable for light industry and heavy industry where a protective midsole is not demanded.
 
  Suitable for contractors, bricklayers and heavy industry where a protective midsole is demanded.
  Suitable for light industry and heavy industry where a protective midsole is not demanded. Only apply to waterproof boots.
  Suitable for contractors, bricklayers amd heavy industry where a protective midsole is demanded. Only apply to waterproof boots.


EN-ISO 20345: KLASSE S


 SB Protection against falling objects of 200 Joule and protection against compression (15 kN Newton)

FURTHER PROTECTION IS DEFINED AS:


HRO Heat resistant up to 300° C
P Protective midsole, 1100 Newton
A Antistatic between 100 kOhm and 1000 mOhm
CI Cold insulation
E Shock absorption in the heel min. 20 Joule
WRU Water resistant upper
ORO Oil resistant outsole
ESD Electrical resistant. Sensitive electronic components are not affected or damaged by static electricity
WR Waterproof
CR Cut resistant
SR Slip resistant. SR-A approved on wet tiles. SR-B approved on oily steel surfaces. SR-C approved on A+B.
 


To simplify the definitions of the footwear and make it easier for the user to choose the right footwear the abbreviations have been gathered under the following designations:  

S1 = SB – A – E Closed heel area
S2 = SB – A – E – WRU Closed heel area
S3 = SB – A – E – WRU – P Closed heel area
S1P = SB – A – E As S1 with protective midsole
S4 = SB – A- E – WRU Only apply to boots
S5 = SB – A – E – WRU – P Only apply to boots


  
Footwear certified to EN-ISO 20347 is without toe cap. The footwear is for occupational use and developed for the protection of the user against injuries which can occur on the working place. The footwear is marked after the same regulations as footwear certified to EN-ISO 20345, where S is replaced by O.

  OB = Basic requirements
  O1 = Basic requirements + A + E
  O2 = Basic requirements + A + E + WRU

Products which have been certified before 01.07.2007, are certified in accordance with EN 345 or EN 347.

Products produced after this date are and will be certified in accordance with EN-ISO 20345 or EN-ISO 20347.
